Meghann Riepenhoff will be among the artists, writers, and scientists embarking on the Kõmij Mour Ijin Marshall Island expedition.
The Kõmij Mour Ijin (Our Life is Here) Marshall Island expedition will set sail on Saturday, August 12, and will sail 450 nautical miles in an expedition that explores the histories of the Marshall Islands, and its surrounding islands, atolls, and ocean territories. Together, their mission will be to explore Marshallese culture, the ongoing aftermath of American nuclear testing, and the potential effects of rising sea levels on the Marshall Islands, which average just 6 feet above sea level. The expedition team's work will be the subject of a touring exhibition and catalogue set to debut in 2025.
