A major retrospective of Tim Hetherington's work, Storyteller: Photography by Tim Hetherington, will be on view at the Imperial War Museum in London, England from Saturday, April 20 through Sunday, September 29, 2024. The opening day, April 20, coincides with the 13th anniversary of Hetherington's death; in 2011, the photographer was killed in the line of duty, photographing the Libyan Civil War.
Encompassing series from across his entire career, the exhibition uses Hetherington's work as a lens to look more deeply into the human side of armed conflict, challenging audience's broad assumptions about war itself. Alongside Hetherington's photgraphs, a selection of his cameras and diaries will be on view, as well as the films Liberian War Graffitti and Diaries.
