Ibrahim Said is one of five artists awarded the 2024 Maxwell/Hanrahan Awards in Craft, which honors artists and craftspeople for their profound contributions at the intersections of multidisciplinary inquiry, cultural stewardship, and innovative material practice. Across a breadth of mediums, the five artists in this year's cohort offer rich and transformative conduits for dialogue, storytelling, and contemplation.
First launched in 2022 and administered by United States Artists, the Maxwell/Hanrahan Awards in Craft celebrate the contributions of artists and craftspeople to the cultural landscape, and especially seeks to supply funding for significant craft-centered practices in the United States. These awards are among the nation's largest in this field, and offers an unrestricted and transformative opportunity to further the artists' creative visions.
