Anoushka Mirchandani's film Landscapes of Longing has been announced to be included in the 54th edition of MoMA's New Directors/New Films festival. The film will premiere on Wednesday, April, 9 at 6 PM at the Walter Reader Theater in Lincoln Center.
Landscapes of Longing is a short film, directed by Anoushka Mirchandani, Alisha Tejpal, and Mireya Martinez, that focuses on three generations of women as they explore their connections and differences through a family archive of photographs, music, and storytelling in an intimate search for their identity and roots, bringing memories to life via the ever-evolving, dissociative experiences of longing and migration.
The New Directors/New Films festival showcases a wide-ranging group of films by emerging directors working at the vanguard of cinema. This year’s ND/NF will present 24 features and nine short films, including 20 North American or US premieres.
