The Jewish Museum Acquires Work by Alison Rossiter

Yossi Milo congratulates Alison Rossiter on the recent acquisition by The Jewish Museum, New York of her work Semblance, Man Ray Tapestry (1), 2025.

Alison Rossiter was inspired by seeing the original textile piece Tapestry, 1911 by Man Ray at The Jewish Museum in the 2009 exhibition Alias Man Ray. She developed and fixed sheets of silver gelatin photographic papers from the 1910s-1920s and placed them in a configuration guided by the Man Ray piece. Semblance, Man Ray Tapestry (1), 2025, uses photographic materials as old as the artwork, Tapestry, 1911.
