The San Diego Museum of Art has announced Meghann Riepenhoff: Waters of the Americas, on view March 6 through September 6, 2027. This will mark Meghann Riepenhoff's first solo museum exhibition.
Bringing together works from her Waters of the Americas series, this presentation traces the environmental conditions shaping bodies of water across the continent and the ways those changes become physically registered within Riepenhoff’s dynamic cyanotypes. Created through direct contact with water, minerals, and biological matter, the works bear the physical imprint of the environments in which they are made, from New York to the West Coast. Within this process, water functions as both subject and collaborator, producing images that record moments in time and place while revealing conditions that may otherwise remain unseen.
