Works by multidisciplinary artist Shikeith were on view in A Beautiful America at the Museum Dhondt – Dhaenens, Belgium, from November 7, 2021 through January 23, 2022, in one of four exhibitions highlighting the collection of Vermeire-Notebaert. Along with work by a variety of African-American artists, the exhibition featured some of Shikeith’s dreamlike portraits that blur the line between sacred and secular encounters with ecstasy.
